You may have heard of the "tragedy of the commons".
It stems from medieval England when sheep herders would all gather in the town square, a common area free and available to all, to graze their sheep. Soon, the grass in the common area had all been consumed - the common good had been completely used up and each sheep herder then had to fend for themselves.
At Common Good Strategies, we take our name from this tale. We believe that scarce resources need to be maximized to be successful, but we don't forget that we need to work together, take care of each other, and ensure the "common good" remains healthy and available for all.
